 Dec. '07: ! - Year Ending Bang!
Unforgettable shows in Beirut, Bulgaria and future classic releases are all part of the December roundup. Our man Keith Thompson was one of David Vendetta's featured artist at the 3,000 filled Forum in Beirut Nov. 30th along with Rachael Starr and Micah. "It started out as a concert," says Thompson, "but ended up a wild party for all." Read more in Keith's myspace blog. A day after returning from that gig it was off to Sofia, Bulgaria for the grand opening night of Bulgarian soul star, Maria Illieva's Stereo Club. Live band and celebrity crowd made a fun but chilled bookend to the previous event. Keith's New Year's Ever Dubai gig at C Bar was rescheduled to club Chrystal in Beirut.
His third time in Beirut looks to be a year ending bang!
Lez (rising South African R&B artist formerly with Shana) is now out
on promo. Mixes by Wookie and Booker T, make one forget that
the original mix is only available in South Africa at this time. Now
South Africa's DJ Sai with the Thompson re-construction to come

Nov. '07: Middle East On Fire! -
Keith Thompson made a guest appearance in Tunisia for David Vendetta's show at Maxximum and it was a blast according to Keith. He gives a moving and funny account of his first time to Africa along with photos and brief videos in his myspace blog. Also peep his introduction to Tunisian music. Prior to that trip, he had just completed his DJ and singing gig at club White in Beirut and says it's a city on fire musically and very cosmopolitan regardless of the troubles they've recently been through.  The Rhythm Of Life (Remixes): The original versions, especially the Tony Humphries mix, had established a new sound for house when originally released in 1992 on Level 10 (US) / Synthetic (UK) and became an underground classic. Yet when it was licensed to Underground Solution these remixes took this production to even greater heights of respect and notoriety in 2002. With mixes by UBP, Jazz-N-Groove, and Jonnick, "The Rhythm Of Life" reached a new generation of house heads. These mixes feature the background and ad lib vocals of India, Connie Harvey, and Debbe Cole rounding out the background vocals. Promo available now at Traxsource.com

*"Borders Don't Matter" on sale June 19, has been getting solid support by DJs who love a song that strikes an emotional chord and unifies a crowd to dance. In the soulful house community the US, UK, mainland Europe, South America, and Africa, we are thankful for the love it's receiving.
*"Kumala" on sale June 19, has also been getting rocked by DJs who love the carnival/ afro vibe. Thanks to Myles Chalmers of Naked Radio for championing this one and convincing us to release it as a single.
* The Soul Heaven night in Colombia was a high! "It's unfortunate that they are known mostly for drugs and crime but it's a different place now," Keith says, "and soulful house has a home there." Read Keith's blog on his gig in Bogota, Colombia at DJ Fruto's Soul Heaven.
May '07: South Eastern Europe Music Event! -
The second annual event brings even more of the house industry to see how eastern Europe is feeling house music. It's pioneer region for the music and DJ Nermin along with Keith Thompson spoke on panels and performed. It was there second year there along with numerous djs and artists such as Hector Romero, Satoshie Tome, Darrel D'bonneau, Georgie Porgie and so much more. The event was even larger than last year. "As to be expected, it is going through growing pains in terms of organization but is still strongly supported by sponsors and the industry," says Keith Thompson. "It promises to be a staple on the music conference scene even if it seems to be leaning toward the techno and dj focused side of things."

December Wrap Up: Seems like Keith Thompson's surprise appearance at the Opera Club in Moscow Russia Dec. 9th, 2006 was a bang.  Here's his review:
"Moscow was kicking. The weather was unseasonably around 50 degrees or so. Great hospitality. Stayed at the Ukraina Hotel by the river. There would usually be snow all over but it was a bit muddy. At night though, the city came alive with holiday lights. Moscow is one big ass city; 15 million strong. The Opera club is where I performed and it's a purpose built club. Not a converted wharehouse like many clubs in some cities.
The stage was set like a broadway show with dancers, erotic performers, gymnasts, fireworks and a catwalk for a fashion show. Within that atmosphere, I had to 'come with it'. I think it was one of the best shows I've done. The crowd was there to enjoy themselves. No attitudes even among the rich up in the top level. The music was a bit too hard for me but the vibe of the crowd made up for that. So, it looks like I'll be heading there again the end of the month. Glad to know I can make a good impression after all these years. Big up to Moscow!"

*Keith Thompson has been in and out of the studio while on summer tour, working on several tracks with Christian Horbostel, Deep Josh, Mattheis Heilbronn, Deanman & Soppa for individual release and for his 2008 album tentatively titled, A Man Like Me. The long awaited "Rock The Castle" has finally been released on Matty Heilbronn's label, Pata De Perro Music. It's available at all leading download spots. With the success of the remake of his classic "Break 4 Love", he's been busy promoting it in Europe aided by the regular radio rotation and video airplay. Thanks to DJ Center who has licensed it from our sister label, Monster Bang. * The hot track, "When I Fall" by a new generation of South African talent, the male group Shana, with mixes by Booker T and Wookie, will be available as a digital release only. * We've also connected with DJ/Producer/ club owner Dj Nuno from Portugal who has delivered his debut EP Europa-lectro Vol. 1with some kicking deep techy grooves to our sister label, Thompsonic Recordings. * With all his touring and family bizz, we are glad to receive a future classic from Keith Thompson titled "Borders Don't Matter". Mixes by Ralf Gum, Phil Hooton, and Thompson. Keith says, "It's a totally emotional song. Meaning, I know logically the issues are more complicated. But my heart say if a person has to feed their family or get back to their love no matter what walls or boarders we erect, physically or legally, people will over come it. Because the survival spirit of love will conquer. I hope people feel it because I'm proud of it." Finally Greenwood's "Kumala" which was featured on Worlds Collide Vol.1 compilation, sees the light of day as a release along with his Jazzy remix. Greenwood has constantly been producing work so we'll soon be able to hear more from him. * DJ Nermin delivered "Let Yourself" and "Head Upf"to round out the EP "Sweat" which includes dj/producer Patrick Bo of Austria who we welcome to the label with his debut release, "Sweat" for which the EP is titled.
